A REPORT ON REPORT ON INNOVATIVE WORK – 1

CLASS : IX
UNIT : RESPIRATION AND EXCRETION
TOPIC : STRUCTURE OF HUMAN LUNGS
 INTRODUCTION
Understanding the structure of human lungs is essential for learning how respiration takes place in the human body. Since lungs are internal organs, students find it difficult to visualize their shape, branching and air passage system. To overcome this difficulty, an innovative three-dimensional model of the lungs has been prepared. This model makes the topic interesting, clear and easy to understand for Class IX students.
OBJECTIVES
• To visualize the structure of the lungs
• Identify different parts such as trachea, bronchi, bronchioles and alveoli • Understand how air travels inside the lungs during breathing
PROCEDURE
The model represents the human respiratory system in a simple and attractive form. It was prepared to take the topic in 9 th standard. It consists of the following labelled parts ; Trachea (Windpipe), Bronchi, Left Lung, Right Lung, Bronchiole and Alveoli. The model was prepared using simple things. The red color is used to show the lungs clearly, and the yellow dots represent alveoli, making the model attractive and realistic. The model helps the students to identify different parts, trace the path of air and explain the function of each part. This makes the lesson more engaging and effective.
CONCLUSION
The innovative lungs model is a very useful teaching aid for Class IX students. It helps in better understanding of the structure of lungs and the process of respiration. Such models make science learning more practical, enjoyable and meaningful.
